How did we meet Mel/Matt?
Melodie and I met at the cute little age of 18 during freshman orientation and immediately bonded in the presence of similar hometowns and mutual sass. We had a year of so many laughs, a year of drama when we tried the roommate thing, and finally settled into a decade of the best kind of grown-up friendship. I am so excited to watch this next chapter unfold for her and her awesome new husband.
I'm Matt's only sibling. From sharing toys and playing games to supporting one another through life as we grew into adults, we've always supported one another the best we knew how.
Mel and I met originally through both working at Lowe's, even though she worked in the background and I worked in the garden center, we crossed with sometimes but didn’t really talk much. Then when the Lowe's friend group started and Mel was coming to the game nights, I got to know her better. The major event that solidified the friendship was definitely seeing Taylor swift together for Seattle night 2. Then ever since it has been great to spend time with her at several cabin weekends, concerts, book club meetings and nights out.
I'm Matt's future brother-in-law. We first met when I visited Seattle for Mel's birthday last year. During my visit, we traversed bars, bowled, and celebrated Mel's birthday.
I met Melodie when we both worked at Lowe’s. She was the cool girl on the unload/freight team with the purple hair, and I was the annoying garden associate who always came to receiving to steal her pallet jacks. We went out for drinks one night with coworkers, and the rest is history. Our friendship was forged across the state (and country!) lines we travelled for various concerts, and cemented with matching tattoos.
Matt and I grew up together. From preschool through college I was always at the Fenlon house. We would play wiffle ball and swim on summer days, or play video games late into the night. These days we stay in touch online and get together to ski/snowboard when we can. This shot is from a powder day we had at Snowbird last year, the day Matt told me he was getting married!
I met Mel when I picked her classroom off a list of potential job assignments and we quickly became fast friends. Going on five years later we have been through so much together and I am so excited for her and Matt!
Elijah was the first friend of Mel's that Matt was 'allowed' to meet. Matt and Elijah started hitting it off doing beer tastings for U Wine Bar and through the construction process. They've been tight ever since with trips to mountains, lakes, and the bottom of a pint glass.
Mom brought me home one day as a baby and I decided I liked it there so you got stuck with me. We go to musicals or theater performances together.
Matt and I met through work and over the years he’s become one of my closest friends. Trying to encapsulate one moment between us to describe how good of a friend he’s been to me is tough, but there is one that stands out of the rest. My car broke down and I called him to see if he had any tools I could use to try and fix it. All he said was I’m on my way. We never got the car to work, but there are few people that are willing to help you when you’re in need and that’s the kind of guy Matt is. I’m proud to stand with him on his wedding day to marry his best friend.
Mel and I are both special education teachers and met serving on the same special education committee. Our monthly meetings started to include a McDonald’s lunch date where we bonded over our jobs, books, and Taylor Swift!
I met Matt within the first few weeks of college. We bonded over being eastern mass boys going to school in NY. We ended up joining the same fraternity and both majoring in Computer Science. Been boys ever since, skiing, concerts, etc. Now we both find ourselves living out west still getting those ski turns in.
